About

Built by people who've done this before.

We started Veteran Strategic because we were tired of watching businesses overpay for software that doesn't work and underinvest in security until it's too late.

Our story

Between us, we've operated at Epic, Microsoft, Humana, Kroger, Northern Trust, and in the U.S. Navy and Air Force. We've seen what good technology looks like — and what happens when organizations get it wrong.

We founded Veteran Strategic to be the firm we wished existed when we were leading teams: one that combines real software engineering, practical cybersecurity, and operational leadership — without the enterprise price tag or the consulting runaround.

We're a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. That's a credential, not our brand. What defines us is how we work: direct, accountable, and focused on outcomes.

Leadership

Jeremy Davis

Co-Founder & Fractional COO

Jeremy is a fractional COO and operational architect with 10+ years in Agile, Scrum, and SAHe. He's helped dozens of SMBs — from Kroger to Humana to Northern Trust — streamline operations, build better software, and make technology decisions that actually move the needle. His approach is direct: understand the business first, then build what's needed.

Richard Catlin III, PhD

Partner & Cybersecurity Lead

Richard is a retired Major from the U.S. Navy and Air Force with over 30 certifications including CISSP. He's led cybersecurity programs at Epic, Microsoft, and Humana, and specializes in CMMC/NIST compliance for the defense industrial base. His focus is on building security programs that are practical, maintainable, and audit-ready — not just checkbox exercises.

How we work

Get it done right

We don't over-engineer. We don't under-deliver. We build what's needed, test it, and make sure it works.

Earn trust through competence

We don't use military jargon or buzzwords. We show up, do the work, and let results speak.

Build for the long term

We don't create dependencies. We build systems your team can own and maintain.

Let's talk about your mission.

Whether it's a compliance deadline, a security concern, or a software project — we start with a conversation.
